Shorelink Writers

Shorelink Writers is a large writing group based in Hastings . Our membership happily encompasses all levels of aspiration and experience from published novelists to those just starting to write, and from academics to learning disabled. Our aim is to support and, hopefully, to inspire each other in a light-hearted, safe, and friendly environment. At Shorelink we believe that laughter is an essential part of the creative process.

Our in-house workshops are aimed at encouraging members to find their own voice and experiment with new writing methods and styles.  These workshops are alternated with sessions where we read our own work back to each other. As well as our weekly meetings, we hold regular social events. If you want a taste of what we do, go to the blog page where you can read about our latest workshop weeks!

Our venue is a meeting room on the ground floor at Royal Terrace, Terrace Road, St Leonards-on-Sea, TN37 6QH. We meet from 7pm to 9pm, most Mondays between September and July (roughly mirroring school term dates).

We ask for a donation of £2 for each meeting attended, to cover our expenses.

Shorelink is a very popular group, so if you are interested in joining us, please contact us beforehand so we can let you know if we have a vacancy.

UPCOMING EVENTS: Sian Turner will be manning a stall at the book fair at this year’s Hastings Book Festival. The event will be on 14th September at The Observer Building in Cambridge Road. Come along and say Hello! 🙂
